Who is Lola James?
Our mission is to save every beautiful piece of vintage glassware. To us, these items aren’t just a cup, or a bowl or a vase - they are memories. These items connect us to people. These items have seen celebrations, weddings, and holidays. They remind us of our parents or grandparents. (Which then reminds us of a joke or a memory). The slightly worn gold rim isn’t damage, it’s the sign that this teacup was treasured and used often. Saving these pieces from being tossed out or destroyed is how we are keeping memories alive.
Feeling nostalgic? Us too!
Jessica is the daughter in this mother daughter duo. She is a determined and feisty woman – with creativity to spare! Jessica began with a candle making business at 10, designed some crazy outfits in high school, has had her own hair salon, designed window displays, created amazing runway looks, has a devoted following for her baked goods and canned items, and is an amazing cook. Whew!
Her love of antiques and vintage items was cultivated from a early age. She spent many weekends exploring antique stores with her mother. Some of her earliest childhood memories are of her mother wandering through aisles of antiques and explaining what they are. A frog? For flower arrangements? What? When she set her eyes on a chair with a beautiful shape but a torn vinyl fabric, her mother brought it home and helped to pick out a new fabric, giving it a new life.
It’s safe to say that her mother always encouraged her to try new things. If something piqued her interest, mom always supported her. Whether it was sports, art, or learning how to build a deck, mom has always been there to cheer her on - or give her a hammer!
In the past few years, this has all come together to become Lola James.
